Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 8, 2026
This policy covers Juvo, the currency converter and price scanner for iPhone, and the website tryjuvo.app. Juvo has no accounts and no ads. Prices are read on your iPhone, and the photos you scan stay on it. We use analytics to see how the app is used, and two service providers to handle purchases and feature requests. The details are below.
Data that stays on your iPhone
- Camera and photos. The scanner recognizes prices on your device with Apple's Vision framework. Camera frames and photos you scan from your library are not saved by Juvo and are not sent anywhere.
- Scan history. Your last 20 scans are stored on your device. You can clear them in the app.
- Location. Juvo picks the local currency from your time zone. If you allow it, the app also checks your approximate location (reduced accuracy, only while the app is open) to confirm the country. The location and the country are used on your device and are not sent to us.
- Settings and rates. Your currencies, custom rates, saved exchange rates and other settings are stored on your device and shared with the Juvo widget.
Exchange rates
The app downloads exchange rates from our server. The request contains no personal information. Like any web request, it includes your IP address, which our hosting provider may record in technical logs.
Analytics
We use PostHog (servers in the United States) to understand how Juvo is used and to improve it. The app sends:
- a random identifier created by the app, not linked to your name, email or Apple Account;
- events such as opening the app, viewing screens, converting, using the scanner and tools, and viewing plans or purchasing;
- details of those events: currency codes you convert between, the country chosen in the tip calculator, the card markup or tip percentage you set, the plan you picked, and your answers to the onboarding questions (how you heard about Juvo and how often you travel);
- device model, iOS version, app version and app language.
The app does not send the prices you scan, the amounts you convert, your photos or your location. PostHog receives your IP address with each request and may use it to estimate your country and city. Screen recording is off.
Purchases
Payments are processed by Apple, and we never see your card details. Subscription status is handled by RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase and subscription history from Apple, device and app information, and your IP address.
Feature requests
If you open feature requests in the app and submit or vote for an idea, WishKitstores your request, your vote, an anonymous identifier, and any contact details you choose to add.
If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you.
This website
tryjuvo.app is hosted by Vercel. We use PostHog on the site to count page views and clicks on App Store links. PostHog stores a random identifier in a cookie and in your browser's local storage, and receives your IP address. The site has no ads and no other trackers.
How we use and share data
We use the data above to run Juvo, process purchases, fix problems and decide what to improve. We share it only with the service providers named in this policy, who process it for us. We do not sell your data, do not show ads, and do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
How long we keep it
Analytics and purchase records are kept while we need them to run and improve Juvo, or as long as the law requires. Data stored on your device is removed when you delete the app.
Your choices and rights
- You can turn off camera and location access at any time in iPhone Settings.
- Deleting the app removes all data stored on your device and resets the app's random identifier.
- You can ask us to access or delete the data we hold about you. Since Juvo has no accounts, tell us roughly when you used the app and on which device, and we will find what we can.
Children
Juvo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries outside your own.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
